EARTH: What is devised by self. Can be unsanctified or sanctified. Unsanctified: Man's natural way of thinking
(not God’s: cf Isa 55:7-9) Mk 4:5, 16-17; Sanctified: God’s understanding springing forth from man - Ps 85:11,
Is 45:8.
EARTHQUAKE: Inward conviction - cp Ex 19:16-18 & Heb 12:21, When light (truth) comes, voices thunder (in
explanation), & the earth quakes (conviction) - Ps 77:18; Mt 27:54; Acts 16:23-30.
EAST: Direction of Self - Job 15:2-5; Eze 8:16. A priest always ministered in the tabernacle with his back to the
east. An east wind (spirit of self) causes green things to wither - Eze 17:10, See Green.
EDEN: See Garden.
EGYPT: A type for the ways of the world from which we are delivered by conversion, when one accepts the
blood of the Lamb as our deliverance (cf Ex 12:5-8 the type). It is an iron furnace - Jer 11:4-see Furnace;
and their horses (thoughts-see Animals) flesh - Isa 31:1-3; a place of spiritual bondage - Jer 34:13;
Dt 10:10-11, see Feet, Water, Garden. The Nile & its tributaries are types for worldly thought, Pr 18:4.
EIGHT: Represents a new beginning, as day one is the beginning of a new week. After the flood,
earth repopulated by eight people. The promise of never another flood was to eight & their seed, i.e. all
the world-no literal or spiritual flood, Gen 9:12-16; Rv 12:14-16. Jesus resurrected on the first day (8th),
Mk 16:1-6, with a new beginning & new covenant. Circumcision of a male child on the eighth day, a sign of
circumcision of the heart, Dt 30:6, a new beginning in Jesus Christ, Col 2:11.
EUPHRATES River: A stream of thought, Pr 18:4, that goes through the mind set (city) of Babylon. Corrupted
church government - Rv 17:5 (see WATER) Confused thinking about God, Gen 11:5-9.
EYE: Understanding - Eph 1:17, 18; Jer 5:21; Mt 13:15.
EYE SALVE: anointing of the Spirit - Rv 3:18; Ps 19:8; Pr 3:7.
FACE: of a person reflects the inward, or the heart - Pr 27:19; 2 Cor 4:6; Ps 31:16; Ec 8:1.
FAMINE: Spiritual drought from a lack of hearing the voice of the Lord - Amos 8:11
FAST(ING): Literally-to close the mouth to food & drink. Spiritual– Ex 34:28; Mt 4:1-2 abstain from the bread &
water of man; eat God’s bread, Jn 6:48, thereby breaking free of the bondage of sin - Isa 58:6-8.
FAT: Indicative of abundance, plenty- Gen 45:18; Isa 25:6. Prosperous in God’s understanding - Isa 6:10; God’s
riches - Pr 28:25; Man’s understanding portrayed in the sin-offering, the fat to be consumed by fire, Lv 4:26,
35, spiritually man’s understanding consumed by the fire of God’s word, Jer 23:29.
FEET: Point in the direction of the thoughts of the heart, or mind - Ps 119:59, 101, 105; 36:11; Pr 6:12-13;
Walking is the application of the thoughts - Mic 2:11; Ps 78:10; 82:5; Heb 12:13.
FINE LINEN: Righteousness of saints - Rv 19:8; cp Zech 3:3-4 a change of garments.
FINGERS: Faith (hands = works-Jer 44:8; fingers work with hands-Jm 2:20, 26 Five on each hand=grace;
10=hearing God (see Numbers). God wrote the Ten Commandments with His finger-demonstrating
faith-Cp Lk 12:20 & Mt 12:28; Jn 20:25-29; Dt 9:10; Spiritual hearing will bring a person to the faith of God,
Rm 10:17; “putting forth of the finger” - using one’s own faith to judge others - Isa 58:9.
FIRE: Sanctified: God’s spoken word, the Spirit of God which consumes sin (quickly - the enemy) - Jer 23:29;
Dt 9.3; Ps 18:8, 13; Dan 7:9-10; Rv 11:5; Isa 30:27, 33; Jer 5:14. Unsanctified: A consuming spirit in man;
Wicked words, thoughts that consume - Jm 3:6; Pr 16:27; Isa 50:11; 1 Pt 1:6-7; Ps 66:12.
Flames of fire = rebuke - Isa 66:15.
FIRSTBORN: (Children equate to throughs, see Children). Self (sin-nature) - must die & bring forth the man
child in you, Rv 12:4-5; Rom 6:6-10 (Firstborn of God, Zec 12:10; Ps 89:27; Col 1:15) - Israel a spiritual
type of the firstborn redeemed out of bondage, Ex 4:22-23; Ex 13:13-15; Firstborn redeemed by the blood
of the Lamb, Ex 12:29; 1 Cor 5:7-8.
FLAX h6593 h6594: Literally used to make garments, Eze 44:17 & wicks, Isa 42:3. Green things out of the
earth used to cover nakedness (See Naked) - Hos 2:9 (man’s righteousness); the spark of goodness in man
that the Lord will not quench, Mt 12:14-21.
Flesh h1320; g4561: a spiritual symbol for man’s natural thoughts, Rom 8:3-8.
FLOOD: Infinite amounts of concepts, teachings - Sanctified - Eze 47:1-5; Unsanctified (confused thoughts
of the world) - Ps 144:7-8; Jer 46:7, 8; 47:2; Rev 12:15 (See Water)
FLOWER: Character or glory of the natural man - 1 Pt 1:24; Isa 40:6-7 h6731; Ps 103:15
FOUNTAIN: (WELL, SPRING): h5869 (literally EYE); h875; h4726 A source of WATER (thought); Impure source,
2 Pt 2:17; Pr 25:26; pure source, Jer 2:13; Pr 10:11.
FOWLER: False prophet, one who lures birds to the earth (see Animals) & snares them – Hos 9:8 h3352; Pr 6:5;
Ps 124:7
FOX: False prophet, one who follows their own spirit - Eze 13:3-4; see Lk 13:31-32; SS 2:15.
FRANKINCENSE: Smells sweet, white = purity & righteousness - Rev 19:8, covers shew bread, Lv 24:7; one of 4
spices that make up the Incense, Ex 30:34-35; added to grain (flour) offerings, Lv 2:1, except sin-offerings,
Lv 5:11.
FROGS: Unclean spirit, false words - Rv 16:13 g944.
FROST (or ice): Breath, spirit or words of God, Job 37:10 h7140; Deceitful words of man, Job 6:15-16.

GARMENT: Character from habitual thoughts - Zech 3:3-4 h899; Ps 104:2 h8008; Rv 12:1; 19:8. Two directions
of the thread that weaves the cloth = faith and works, cf Lv 13:49-negative.
GATES: Symbols of eyes & ears, doors into the heart/mind - cp Ps 118:19-20 & Jn 10:7. Cp Pr 8:1, 3 with
Rev 3:20 & 1Cor 1:24, 30; Pr 1:20-21 see City.
GENTILES: Sin in the life, as revealed by the character of their nations. (See Babylon, etc); mightier than you -
Dt 7:1; to be ruled with a rod of iron, Ps 2:9; Rv 2:27; 12:5.
GIRDLE (Belt): Righteousness, faithfulness - Isa 11:5 h232; thoughts with which the mind (loins) is girded.

GLORY: Figurative use: views, judgments, opinions g1391 relate to one’s glory & honor: God’s glory h3519 is
His character - Ex 33:18; 34:5-7; The heavens declare the glory of God to man, Ps 19:1 (see HEAVENS);
man's - Job 19:9 (see Crown); Wisdom (Christ, 1Cor 1:24) will crown you with glory - Pr 4:9; Jn 17:22,
& remove man’s earthly glory.
GOLD: Faith (a noun), something you possess, result of believing (a verb). Character, self, riches (truths)
God has given you. Sanctified=picture of wisdom God has given you. Unsanctified=your own wisdom, thoughts;
Self - 1 Pt 1:7; Jesus said, Rv 3:20
GOD’S Throne: His Mind, kingdom - Ps 103:19 h3678; Lk 17:20-21 g932; 1Cor 3:16-17 g3485.
GRACE: The Divine influence of love, kindness and mercy, by which we are rendered innocent, is the
manifestation of grace - Tit 3:4-7; Eph 1:7-9; 2:7; described in Lk 6:31-38 (KJ has Thank G5485)
GRASS: An earthly covering, Symbol of the natural man, people; spiritual symbol of righteousness of the flesh -
Isa 40:6 h2682; 1 Pt 1:24 g5528.

GRAVE: A pit as being without Spirit, wisdom & knowledge – Ecc 9:10; Pr 1:10-12; The human mind, as a hole in the
